About
Kat Zimmerman (she/her) is a four-time ASCAP+ Award-winning composer, lyricist, and writer for stage, screen, and page, who creates feminist-forward work at the intersection of arts and activism. Current projects include Cycles (co-written with Amy Andrews), an ensemble-driven musical about abortion rights, and Home for the Holidays (co-written with Makena Metz), adapted from A Christmas Carol, in development with the Alliance for Jewish Theatre. Her work has been performed at the United Nations, Carnegie Hall, the Geffen Playhouse, the Hollywood Fringe, and featured in the Emmy Award-winning HBO documentary Autism: The Musical. As founding music director for The Miracle Project, Kat has created groundbreaking programs for neurodiverse youth throughout Los Angeles.
